Description

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 3 large egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers
  • 5 ripe bananas, sliced
  • Whipped cream for topping


Instructions

  1. Whisk sugar, flour, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat while stirring.
  3. Temper the egg yolks with a small amount of hot milk, then add back to pan.
  4. Whisk until thickened, then remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
  5. Layer wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding in a dish.
  6. Repeat layers until finished.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
