- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 3/4 cups Cold Buttermilk
- 2 tbsp Cold Butter (optional)
- 1 tbsp Sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and prep a baking sheet or skillet.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Stir in cold buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms.
- Gently shape into a round loaf on a floured surface (do not knead).
- Cut a deep X into the top and bake for 15 mins at 425°F, then 25-30 mins at 400°F.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
